Color Palette Creator

  • Current Version: 1.6
  • Last Revision: 07.31.2004
  • Language: Javascript
  • Requires: MSIE6, Mozilla, Firefox, Netsape 7, Opera 7, Safari, etc.

Inspired by Andy Clarke's article on creating color palettes, this small app will take a base color in hex format and create a palette of ten shades of that color for you.

Update v1.6 (07.31.2004)

  • You can now export your saved color palettes to a PNG image via the "Create PNG" button in the "Saved Palettes" window. This is a temporary image, meaning it does not exist on the server -- if you want to keep the image you must save it to your hard drive.

Update v1.5 (07.01.2004)

  • Added "save" functionality for palettes via a cookie.

Update v1.4 (06.08.2004)

  • Added the ability to change the "blend" colors to user defined hex colors other than white (FFFFFF) and black (000000).

Update v1.3 (06.04.2004)

  • Added a "Base Color History" dropdown.
  • Added the ability to click a swatch to set it as the new base color.

Update v1.2 (06.02.2004)

  • Added a table of color values to ease copying.
  • Added two buttons to allow for hex and RGB output for the aforementioned table.

Update v1.1 (05.28.2004)

  • Added a button to generate random base colors.
