slayeroffice - web experiments gone horribly awry

02.14.2007 - Ernest, finished.

Polymer clay sculpture, entitled 'Ernest'

Lessons learned:

  • Baked clay is not nearly as strong as you think it is.
  • Super glue can fix just about anything.
  • When given the choice of a super glue that won't bond with skin verus a brand that will, choose the more expensive, skin-friendly tube.
  • When cutting a wire hanger with tin snips (for the purpose of armature), for-the-love-of-god look away when the hanger snaps, lest ye lose an eye.

Start to finish set on Flickr.

I have been reading your blog for a couple of years now, and I must admit that I am pretty fascinated by this clay thread of posts. Thanks for sharing your art with us.
