slayeroffice - web experiments gone horribly awry

01.12.2004 - Grand Prix

As mentioned on the sixth, I brought my Atari 2600 home and have been playing it fairly regularly, specifically one of my favorites as a kid, "Grand Prix", an Activision game written by David Crane around 1982.

For those that don't remember this title, it consisted of you driving a purple'ish colored dragster from a top down perspective and trying to go as fast as possible down a straight track, all the while avoiding other cars and oil slicks to achieve the best time.

Sound familiar? Well here is a pretty decent rewrite of it (the first track, at least) as the newest addition to the arcade.

Enjoy!

Hi Steve Thanks for the great game! Brings back a few memories! You have an awesome site and I have found a lot of usefull stuff on here. Keep up the good work! Cheers Ash :)
